Applications are invited in the prescribed format as given in Annexure-A hereunder, from eligible Indian citizens for recruitment against Scouts & Guides quota for the year 2016-17 for Group ‘C’ posts in Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200) with Grade Pay Rs.1900/- and erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts in Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200) with Grade Pay Rs.1800/- on N.E. Railway and Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), Varanasi.

Qualification:
FOR GROUP “C” POSTS :For Technician-Ill: Matriculation or its equivalent with ITI in relevant trade (Recognized by SCVT, NCVT) and for other posts: 12th or its equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate. The compulsion of 50% marks in aggregate will not be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen candidates.
FOR GROUP “D” POSTS: Matriculation (10th) or equivalent.
Scouting: (a) President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section, (b) Should have been an active member of a Scouts Organisation for the last 05 years. The “certificate of activeness” should be as per Annexure-B given hereunder. (c) Should have attended two events at National Level or All Indian Railways’ Level and two events at State Level,

250/- for SC/ST/Minerity/PWD
General Instruction:
(i) A candidate shall be called for Written Examination only if he/she fulfills all the laid down conditions.
(ii) Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills all the eligibility norms. The educational or Scout & Guide qualifications acquired after the date of application shall not be considered.
(iii) Candidates attempting to give false information/suppressing the facts will be disqualified and are liable for debarment and legal action. Candidates who attempt fraud/impersonation are liable to be debarred to appear in the future examinations conducted for recruitment in Railways.
(iv) CarKlidate(s) found eligible for appointment have to pass the prescribed medical examination conducted by the Railway administration before appointment.
(v) Mere selection of candidates and recommendation for their appointment shall not confer any right on the candidates for their appointment in Railway.
(vi) Second class Free journey pass from the nearest Railway station mentioned in the application form will be issued to the candidates belonging to SC & ST communities whenever they are called at any stage of recruitment.
(vii) The persons appointed against Scouts and Guides Quota to the category of clerks will be required to possess proficiency in typing within a period of two years from the date of appointment, and their appointment will be provisional subject to acquisition of the prescribed typing qualification within the stipulated period. In case of non acquisition of typing skill within the prescribed period, no additional time will be given and services of such candidate(s) will be summarily terminated.
