Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications from a recognized institution:

• Full-time B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from a Central or State Institute of Hotel Management (CIHM/SIHM/PIHM) affiliated to National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM & CT)/UGC/AICTE/Government of India.
• BBA/MBA (Culinary Arts) from Indian Culinary Institutes under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
• B.Sc. Hotel Management and Catering Science from Government-recognized Universities affiliated to UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.
• MBA (Tourism and Hotel Management) from Government-recognized Universities affiliated to UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.

Age Limit (as on 01-05-2026)

• Upper Age Limit for UR: 27 years
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC-NCL: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Up to the extent of service rendered in defense plus 3 years

Important Dates

Remuneration and Allowances

• CTC: Rs. 30,000/- per month (inclusive of Statutory Deductions)
• Daily Allowance: Rs. 350/- per day for on-duty on-board in trains:
  • 100% for more than 12 hours
  • 70% for 6 to 12 hours
  • 30% for less than 6 hours
• Lodging Charges: Rs. 240/- (only if night stay is involved at outstation)
• National Holiday Allowance (NHA): As per extant policy (if worked)
• Medical Insurance: On a per-month basis as per extant policy (reimbursable on submission of valid documents)
• Security Deposit: Selected candidates must furnish a security deposit of Rs. 25,000/- in the form of a Demand Draft payable to IRCTC Ltd, New Delhi.

Selection Process

• Candidates must fill out the application form (attached with the notification) and submit it at the interview venue along with:
  • Original documents
  • One set of attested copies of requisite documents
  • Two recent passport-size photographs
• Selection will be based on a personal interview and verification of credentials.
• Shortlisted candidates will receive an offer of engagement in order of merit, subject to vacancy availability and antecedent verification.
• Engagement is purely contractual and does not entitle candidates to claim regular/permanent employment in IRCTC.
