Medical Department of Central Railway will be conducting a “Walk in Interview” on 13/08/202() at in Medical Director’s Office, Dr.B.A.M.Hospital, Central Railway, Byculla, Mumbai, 400027.
Verification of Documents from 9.30 AM TO 11.30 AM Walk in interview will start a 12 noon onwards.
The tenure of senior Resident is for one year (subject to extension of scheme after 1301.2020). The Maximum permissible tenure of senior Resident is three years.

Emoluments
Sr. Residents having post graduate Degree Pay Rs.26950/- (Basic) + Rs.6600/- (Grade pay), Pay Band-3 (15600-39100) other relevant allowance as per Railway Board’s guidelines issued from time to time.

The candidates are expected to bring all original documents along with a set of self-attested photocopy of the same pertaining to age, qualification, MCI registration/MMC registration, work experience, caste etc. (List enclosed). As mentioned by CPO and approved by AGM in Office Note No, BY.HESr. Resident dated.16.02.2017 “if indicated Caste candidates not being available, Senior Resident posts will be filled by any other Caste on a provisional basis”. Fresh selection process will be done for these candidates at the end of their one year tenure.
Tenure of Senior Resident Central Railway
- The contract of appointment for Senior Residents will be one year*. The total period of Senior Residency cannot exceed the maximum period of three years subject to renewals
- The termination of contract can be done on one month notice or pay from either side.
- Unfurnished accommodation will be provided, if available. No private practice will be allowed.
- They will be called upon to perform any additional duties in the interest of Railway Administration including Railway accidents and National progamme etc.

The Great Indian Peninsula Railway was a predecessor of the Central Railway, whose headquarters was at the Boree Bunder in Mumbai (later, the Victoria Terminus and presently the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus). The Great Indian Peninsula Railway was incorporated on August 1, 1849 by an act of the British Parliament.
It had a share capital of 50,000 pounds. on August 17, 1849 it entered into a formal contract with the East India Company for the construction and operation of an experimental line, 56 km long, to form part of a trunk line connecting Bombay with Khandesh and Berar and generally with the other presidencies of India.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, formerly known as Victoria Terminus in Mumbai, is an outstanding example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture in India, blended with themes deriving from Indian traditional architecture. The building, designed by the British architect F.W. Stevens, became the symbol of Bombay as the ‘Gothic City’ and the major international mercantile port of India. The terminal was built over ten years starting in 1878 according to a High Victorian Gothic design based on late medieval Italian models. Its remarkable stone dome, turrets, pointed arches, and eccentric ground plan are close to traditional Indian palace architecture. It is an outstanding example of the meeting of two cultures as British architects worked with Indian craftsmen to include Indian architectural tradition and idioms forging a new style unique to Bombay.
