Applications are invited from the eligible and outstanding sports persons in the prescribed format (attached) for filling up of 21 (Twenty One) posts in Pay Level 2/3, Basic pay (Z 19900/21700 & Pay Level 4/5, Basic Pay Z 25500/29200) over ECR/Hajipur against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement).

NOTE
The Railway Administration reserves the right to modify the vacancies.
If suitable/eligible candidates are not found for Pay Level 4/5 (Basic Pay 225500/29200), the vacancies may be downgraded in Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay 219900/21700). Accordingly, players who are eligible for Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay 219900/21700) may also apply for Pay Level 4/5 (Basic Pay 225500/29200) but their final selection shall be subject to downgrading of the posts by competent authority.
• Centralized Trial for each Game will be conducted against the posts of Pay Level 4/5 (Basic Pay 225500/29200) & Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay 219900/21700).
3. Period of Reckoning Sports Achievements: For recruitment against sports quota, the sports achievements shall be in the current and/or immediate previous 02 (two) financial years and sportsperson shall be an active player. For this purpose, previous two financial years from the date of notification, shall be taken into account.
For example, notification issued in 2019-20 (i.e. from 01.04.2019 to 31.03.2020) for recruitment against Sports Quota, the sports achievements of current Year (2019-20) and previous two financial years. i.e. 2017-18 and 2018-19 shall be taken into account and therefore, sports achievements on or after 01.04.2017 shall only be considered for appointment in the extant case. For this purpose, concluding day/date of the Tournament/Championship shall be taken into account.

Mode of Recruitment
Candidates will be shortlisted for trials to be held later after initial screening of applications.
Fee Structure
Application fee is Rs 250/- for SC/ST/Pwd/ ex-Servicemen and Rs 500/- for other candidates, to be paid through Indian Postal Order.

About East Central Railway
East Central Railway was inaugurated on 08.09.96 and an Officer on Special Duty of the rank of General Manager was posted.
Construction of temporary Zonal Office Building for E. C. Railway covering 3100 sqm. area was completed in June, 97 and core group of Officers and staff posted. E. C. Railway started functioning by looking after some of the activities of Sonpur and Samastipur Division.
Though the Zone was first set up on September 8, 1996 with Headquarters at Hajipur, Bihar, it became operational on 1st October, 2002. East Central Railway was carved out ofEastern and North Eastern Railway consisting of the divisions namely Dhanbad, Danapur, Mughalsarai from Eastern Railways and Sonepur and Samastipur out of North Eastern Railway. The last eleven years of its existence has been full of challenges and every obstacle was dealt in a dedicated manner despite constraints of work force and infrastructure.
