General Information

  • Andhra pradesh government jobs. The eligible applicants will be called in order of marks obtained in Std X (for Freshers) and in order of marks obtained in Std X and ITI (for ExITI candidates) giving equal weightage.
  • In the case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate having older age shall be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the candidate who passed Std X examination earlier shall be considered first. Fresher candidates will not have the option to select the trade. They will be allotted the trade by the Administration based on the order of merit from the available vacancies at the time of registration of contracts.
  • Once selected, request for change of trade will not be entertained. In respect of Ex-ITI quota, they will be trained in the trade in which they are in possession of ITI certificate. The candidate should be physically fit as per the conditions applicable under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Selected candidates should produce a Medical Certificate at the time of document verification in the prescribed form signed by Government authorized doctor (Gaz.) not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon of Central/ State Hospital in terms of Railway Board’s letter no E(MPP)/2009/6/14 dated 0,1.12.2018.
  • Candidates with higher qualifications viz. Engineering Degree / Diploma are not eligible to apply. Original Transfer Certificate for completion of qualifying examination (Std. XII/ X/ ITI) must be produced during verification of certificates. The apprenticeship training will commence on any date after 01.10.2019 tentatively. The candidates are required to submit a declaration to the effect that he/she is aware that he/she does not have any right of employment in ICF/Railways in future.
  • It should be noted that the selection and training are strictly in compliance with the provisions of Apprentice Act, 1961 and NO EMPLOYMENT IS GUARANTEED TO THE APPRENTICES ON COMPLETION OF THEIR TRAINING.

How To Apply

  • Facility for submission of online application will be available from 20.05.2019 at 09:30 hrs to 24.06.2019 at 17:00 hrs on ICF website.

  • Candidates who wish to apply need to log on to the ICF web portal www.icf.indianrailways.gov.in and click “Apprentice 2019″ link or ”https://pbicf.gov.in”.
  • Candidates should read the notification thoroughly and fill in the online application form correctly & submit. Before filling the application form, candidates should keep ready Scanned copies of all the necessary documents/certificates required.
  • After final submission, the application form will be generated by the system. The candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form generated by the system, paste recently taken passport size photograph 85 sign the application of in in the space provided to be submitted at the time of Document Verification.

Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is a manufacturer of rail coaches located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1952, is owned and operated by the Indian Railways. It is located in the neighbourhood of Perambur. The coach factory primarily manufactures rolling stock for Indian Railways but also exports railway coaches to other countries. ICF set a new record produce 2503 coaches in the fiscal year 2017-2018, aiming to produce 3,000 coaches in fiscal year 2018-2019.

A premier production unit of the Indian railways, the ICF manufactures a range of coaches, including Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) ones, in addition to self-propelled train sets (SPTs) such as electrical multiple units (EMU).

The ICF was established in 1952 and started production on 2 October 1955. The first items produced were third class shells for Southern Railway.

The ICF consists of two main divisions – shell division and furnishing division. The shell division manufactures the skeleton of the rail coach, while the furnishing division is concerned with the coach interiors and amenities. An ancillary unit to the ICF is being built in Haldia, West Bengal for furnishing diesel multiple units. ICF manufactures more than 170 varieties of coach including the kolkatta metro rakes for bhel,ngef,cnrdalian icf/medha first and second class coaches, pantry and kitchen cars, luggage and brake vans, self-propelled coaches, electric (EMU), diesel (DMU) and mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU), metro coaches and diesel electric tower cars, accident relief medical vans (ARMV), inspection cars (RA), fuel test cars, track recording cars and luxury coaches. The plant employs about 11,095 people and manufactures about 2000 coaches per year. ICF churned out 1,503 coaches in 2010 and in August 2011, ICF was sanctioned a project for manufacturing stainless steel shells and high speed bogies and an increase in capacity from 1,500 to 1,700 coaches. In 2013-14, it built 25 LHB Coaches, 248 air-conditioned and 1185 non-AC coaches. It plans to increase its manufacturing capacity of LHB coaches. It has set a target to manufacture 300 LHB coaches in 2014-15 and reach a capacity of 1000 LHB coaches by 2016-17. ICF has turned out a record out turn of 2277 coaches during the year 2016-17 consisting of more than 50 variants involving high technological inputs, meticulous planning and execution. A total of 50,000 coaches had been produced till 18 Aug 2015 by ICF since its inception. On an average, the ICF takes 20 days to build a coach.
