Recruitment against Scout & Guide quota in DLW for 2011-12
1 Number of posts and pay band under Scouts & Guides quota.
Group “C’ one post, pay band Rs. 5200-20200 +1900 G.P.
Group “D” two post, pay band Rs. 4440-7440+1300/- G.P
2. Ed ucational qualification – For Group “C” -Minimum High School Pass Or its equivalent
For Group “D”- Minimum 8th pass.
Note:- Candidates are advised to enclose Xerox copy of certificates duly attested By a Gazetted officer in support of Educational qualification and caste.
3-Essential qualification for Scouts & Guides.
(i)A President Scouts/ Guides/ Ranger/ Rover, OR Himalayan Wood Badge Holder, OR A pre-HWB trained Scouts leader/Advanced Trained Guides/Leader/Captain, and (ii) Should have been an active member of a Scouts Organization for at least 3 years in the recent past and should continue to be active and (iii) Should have attended at least one event at National Level and one or two events at State level or should have a good record of participation in Scouts/Guide activities at Unit/District Level.
Note:- Candidates are advised to enclose zerox copy of certificates duly attested by a Gazetted officer in support of Scouts & Guides qualification as mentioned above. Certificates in support of Scouts & Guides qualification as mentioned in (ii) & (iii) will be required again at the time of interview.
4-Mode of Selection:- (A) Written Test (objective type question as per syllabus given below)= 50 marks (B) Scout & Guide qualification = 35 marks. (C) Interview =15 marks, Total =100 marks.
5-Syllabus for Group “C” History of Scouting/Guiding, Law & Promise Organisation-Distt. & State Level, Training Centre Distt. & State Level, knowledge of Books, Scouting for Boys/Guiding for Girls in India, Motto left hand shaker, Salute, Prayer, Flag Song, National Anthem, Know the National and Scouting Flags, Social services at various occasions, Hiking, Proficiency Badges, How these are earned? Stages in Scouting /Guiding, Thinking Day, Progressive Training of Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers, Pioneering, Handicrafts, Indian Railway Jamborette, National Jamboree, Jamboree on the Air.
Organisation at National Level, National Training Centers, WAGGGS/WOSMUprashtrapati Award Competition, Prime Minister Shield Competition, Community Development Programmes, Aims and Methods of Scouting.

7-Age:- For Group “C” 18 to 30 years and for the Group “D” 18 to 33 years as On 01.07. 2011 (Upper Age relaxation will be for SC/ST 05 years and For OBC-03 years as per extent rule)
8-Fee:- The processing fee for recruitment will be Rs. 40/- (in case of SC/ST Candidates fees are exempted) payment should be made in favour of F.A. & C.A.O. DLW/VARANASI. Through Indian Postal Order.
9-How to apply:- (i) Applications are invited in the prescribed format as attached at “Annexure-A” with a recent passport size photograph pasted thereon bearing full signature of the candidate.(ii) Attach two self addressed envelopes (one stamped of Rs. 5/- & one unstamped.) (iii)Copies of document viz, Birth, Educational, Caste & Scout
Guide qualification attached.
Note:- All columns should be filled clearly otherwise applications are liable to be rejected.
10-Last date of Application & Address:- The application should be addressed to the General to Manager/Personnel, Recruitment Section, DLW/VARANASI-221004.
Application along with necessary certificates/documents must reach latest by date 30.07.2011, time 12.00 Hrs. DLW will not be responsible for any postal delay. Super Scribe clearly in the envelope “Recruitment against Scouts & Guides Quota 2011-12. No application or any enclosure will be accepted after the closing date.
