Applications are invited from Indian Citizens, for recruitment to posts in Pay Band Rs.5 200 — 20,200 in Southern Railway, against Cultural quota and Scouts & Guides quota for the year 2012 — 2013, as indicated below.
CULTURAL
1 post – Classical Dance – Female – (Bharathanatyam / Kuchipudi / Mohiniattam)
1 post – Instrumental – Male/Female (Violin/Guitar / Key Board)
SCOUTS & GUIDES – 2 posts for each Division, viz., Chennai, Tiruchchirapalli, Madurai, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram and Salem.
Note: Application and Examination Fees should be submitted separately in case any candidate is applying under different quota.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR CULTURAL QUOTA
Candidates should possess Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Music from Government recognised Institute. 2.2 DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION FOR CULTURAL QUOTA
(I) Experience in the field and performance given on AIR/ Doordarshan, etc.
(ii) Prizes won at National level.
PROCEDURE FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST CULTURAL QUOTA
The candidates, who apply in response to this notification and are found eligible for consideration for appointment, will be assessed on the following basis.
(A) Written Test (Note: The written test will consist of objective type questions): 50 marks
(B) Assessment of talent in the relevant field on
(i) the basis of practical demonstration: 35 marks
(ii) Testimonial / Prizes etc.: 15 marks
Total: 100 marks
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SCOUTS & GUIDES QUOTA
(a) A President’s Scout/Guide/ Ranger/Rover (or) Himalayan Wood Badge Holder (or)A pre-HWB trained Scout leader/Advanced Trained Guider/ Leader/ Captain.
(b) Should have been an active member of a Scouts organisation for at least 3 (three) years in recent past and should continue to be active; ©
(c) Should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two events at State Level; # (or) Should have a good record of participation in Scouts/Guides at Unit/District level.
Explanatory Note:
At least three years in the recent past i.e. during 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and should continue to be active, i.e. during 2012-13 (till date).
Candidate should have attended at least one National event besides one or two state level events.
Certificate should contain the ‘List of events attended by candidate’.
