Notification For Huge Vigilance Officer(E-2)/Assistant Vigilance Officer Post Vacancy – IRCTC
Applications are invited from the employees of different Zonal Railways/Railway Board for following post in Vigilance Department in Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) at New Delhi on usual terms of deputation for a period of three years. The applications of eligible & willing candidates. who are in the age of maximum 55 years as on 10.04.2019 and can be spared immediately for posting on deputation basis, may be forwarded to this office so as to reach this office on or before 10.04.2019 positively. The service particulars, experience. Date of entry in present GP/level. educational qualifications, etc. should be clearly indicated in Bio-data and the same should be certified. The upto date APARs Dossiers/rating of preceeding three years along with Vigilance/D&AR clearance may be sent positively to the GGM (HRD). IRCTC. Corporate office, 12th Floor. Employees working in CDA Scale:
- Persons in GP4800(NG)/Level-8(NG) and those completed three years in GP.4600/Level-7 will be eligible for the grade of Vigilance Officer (E-2).
- Persons in GP4600/Level-7 but with less than three years will be eligible for the grade of Asstt. Vigilance Officer (El).
- Candidates working in regular Grade/Grade Pay/Level will only be considered as “Eligible” for the above mentioned post. Candidates working in Grade/GP on MACP/adhoc basis will not be considered.
Eligibility Criteria: Officials holding analogous posts on regular basis in the revised CDA scale of Rs.9300-34800 with GP4800(NG)/Level-8(7thCPC) OR GP4600 /Level-7 (7thCPC)/ possessing a degree in any discipline, proficiency of work in MS-office/Excel/Access. etc. and having experience of minimum two years working in Vigilance department or handling (inquiry) in D&AR case of Zonal Railway/Railway Board. Having experience of tenders and contract will be added advantage.

It is known for changing the face of railway ticketing in India and is among the Miniratna companies of Central Indian government. Prior to its inception, Indian railway passengers had little options for quality food during travel. Passengers had to get off from trains at stations and buy sub-standard food from station food stalls which were not known for hygiene. Trains stop for only few minutes at stations and this added to rush & panic among travelers. After the advent of IRCTC, pantry cars were introduced inside long or medium distance trains which catered to passengers by serving freshly cooked quality food, thus revolutionizing train travel in India. It pioneered internet-based rail ticket booking through its website, as well as from the mobile phones via WiFi, GPRS or SMS. It also provides SMS facility to check PNR status and Live Train Status as well. In addition to e-tickets, Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation also offers I-tickets that are basically like regular tickets except that they are booked online and delivered by post. The tickets PNR status is also made available. Commuters on the suburban rail can also book season tickets through the website. It has also launched a loyalty program called Shubh Yatra for frequent travelers. Through this program, passengers can avail of discounts on all tickets booked round the year by paying an upfront annual fee.
Seeking to make it easier to book e-tickets, It launched a scheme called Rolling Deposit Scheme (RDS). RDS is an e-ticket booking scheme allowing passengers to reserve seats against advance money kept with the corporation. It has also added flights and hotels booking facilities to their line of online reservation services.
Passengers are allowed to book tickets through e-ticketing all the day except from 11:45 pm to 12:20 am, following when IRCTC shut down its main server for 35 minutes for maintenance.
