Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal had last month announced fresh jobs in Indian Railways. As per the announcement, as many as 1.3 lakh railway jobs would be notified in the month of February – March, 2019. The exact nature of the jobs is not known at present. However, it is expected that after Group C, D and JE, Railway Recruitment Board, RRB would now release NTPC or Non-Technical Popular Category jobs in Indian Railways. Candidates are again informed that there is no confirmation that Indian Railways or RRBs would release a notification for RRB NTPC jobs. Given below are indicative age limit, eligibility and types of jobs that fall under the NTPC job bracket. The official notification is expected in

Eligibility: NTPC refers to Non-Technical Popular Categories. These categories of jobs are usually graduate level jobs. This mean that candidates are required to be completed their graduation from a recognized university. This, however, varies for different categories.
Type of Jobs: Most famous jobs under the NTPC category include Assistant Station Master, Time Keeper, Traffic Assistant, and Clerk cum Typist, Goods Guard, Enquiry-Reservation clerk and Accounts Assistant. Commercial Apprentice and Traffic Apprentice also fall under the category.
Age Limit: Provided that RRBs continue the extension of Group D and ALP& Technician recruitment to NTPC, it can be suggested that the age limit would be in the range of 18 – 32 years. The age relaxation as applicable for reserved categories and ex-servicemen would also be applicable.
About Railway Jobs
Railway Recruitment Control Board is a government organisation in India. It was set up in 1998 in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), New Delhi. In 1945, the Services Commissions were set up at Bombay, Calcutta, Madras and Lucknow. In 1948, the Indian Railway Enquiry Committee reviewed working of commissions.In 1949, due to financial constraints a ban was imposed on recruitments on Indian Railways thus numbers of commissions was reduced to one centrally located at Bombay.In 1953-54 when Economic conditions of Indian Railway improved, four service commission were again set up at Bombay, Madras, Allahabad and Calcutta. In 1956, the Estimates committee generally approved the method of recruitment by the constitution of the Railway Service Commissions. In 1983, to cater to the needs of areas which were being neglected due to locations of the existing commissions, seven more commissions were set up viz, at Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhuvneshwar, Chandigarh, Jammu and Srinagar with sitting at Leh and Trivendrum. In 1984 two more service commissions were set up at Malda and Gorakhpur. In January, 1985 Railway Service Commissions have been renamed as Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). At present 19 Railway Recruitment Boards are functioning.

Rajasthan PTET 2019 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have secured 50% marks in bachelor’s degree as well as post graduation degree. The degree should be issued by GDCB or other recognized university.
