General Information:
- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd, a Joint Venture company with equity participation from the Govt. of India and the Govt. of the National Capital Territory of Delhi has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of the rail-based Mass Rapid Transit System for Delhi. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Lifeline of Delhi, prides itself on its ability to nurture its employees through its unique work culture. Today, DMRC empowered by about 14,500 employees, carry about 3 million passengers per day in Delhi & NCR. In addition to the above, DMRC is involved in providing consultancy services to a number of cities within India and abroad.
- Caste & EWS Certificate should be in prescribed formats, for seeking reservation/relaxation etc. (All these formats are available on DMRC’s website www.delhimetrorail.com) in the Careers section. No other format will be acceptable. EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to further directives of the Government of India and outcome of any litigation. The appointment would be provisional and
subject to the Income and Asset certificate being verified through the proper channels and if the verification reveals that the claim to belong to EWS is fake/false the services will be terminated
forthwith without assigning any further reasons and without prejudice to such further action as may be taken under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code for production of fake/false certificate. The Income and Asset Certificate issued by any one of the authorities mentioned in the prescribed format as given on our website shall only be accepted as proof of candidate’s claim as belonging to EWS. - The job profile entails responsibility of management of various maintenance systems and processes, in connection with operation and maintenance of Metro Trains/tracks/works etc. and also for
installation/execution of various systems in DMRC Project etc. It includes include any other duty/duties entrusted, from time to time. - The candidate would be posted either at Mumbai or Patna. However, DMRC reserves the right to post the selected candidate in any other project of DMRC, anywhere in India, as per the requirement of the Corporation.
- Candidates would be required to apply online from 15/01/2020 to 04/02/2020. The link to apply online shall be hosted on the website of Delhi Metro, www.delhimetrorail.com/career.aspx, only.
- Candidates would be shortlisted based on the information provided by them in their online application form. The list of shortlisted candidates would be displayed on the website of the DMRC by 15/02/2020 (tentatively).
- Shortlisted candidates would have to download their interview e-call letter from the website of the DMRC, using their Registration ID and Password.
- The Group Discussion &/or Personal Interview would be held in the month of February, 2020 (tentatively). The Group Discussion &/or Personal Interviews would be held at the Metro Bhawan,
Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. - Outstation candidates would be reimbursed travelling allowance equivalent to 3rd AC Rail Fare from the rail junction nearest to their correspondence address to Delhi.
- No separate communication, by post, would be sent to the candidates individually. Candidates are required to go through the instructions / schedule for interview displayed on DMRC website and
appear for the selection process, accordingly along with original copies of testimonials. - The selected candidates would be required to appear for medical examination within 07 days, from the date of declaration of result.

- The success in the screening process shall not confer any right to appointment unless the Corporation is satisfied after such an inquiry, as may be considered necessary, that the candidate having regard to his/her character and antecedents is suitable in all respects for appointment to the service.
- The pay & emoluments for the above post shall be as per the respective pay scale under the IDA (Industrial DA), as applicable, from time to time and other benefits which include Perks, HRA / Lease,
Medical benefit, EPF, Gratuity, and Insurance, etc., as per the extant rules of the Corporation.
About Us:
- The Delhi Metro is a rapid transit system serving Delhi and its satellite cities of Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Bahadurgarh and Ballabhgarh, in the National Capital Region of India.It is by far the largest and busiest metro in India, and second oldest after the Kolkata Metro.The network consists of Eleven colour-coded regular lines serving 285 stations with a total length of 391 kilometres (243 mi).The system has a mix of underground, at-grade, and elevated stations using both broad-gauge and standard-gauge. Delhi Metro operates over 2,700 trips daily, starting at around 05:00 and ending at 23:30 hrs.
- Construction started in 1998, and the first elevated section (Shahdara to Tis Hazari) on the Red Line opened in 2002. The first underground section (Vishwa Vidyalaya – Kashmere Gate) on the Yellow Line opened in 2004.The development of the network was divided into phases. Phase I with 3 lines was completed by 2006, and Phase II in 2011. As of 2019, Phase III is in the finishing stage, and scheduled to be mostly complete by the end of the year. Construction on Phase IV is expected to start in 2019.
- Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), a company with equal equity participation from the Government of India and the Government of Delhi, Ministry of Urban Development oparates DMRC. built and operates the Delhi Metro.DMRC was certified by the United Nations in 2011 as the first metro rail and rail-based system in the world to get carbon credits for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing carbon emission levels in the city by 630,000 tonnes every year.
- Delhi Metro also interchanges with the Rapid Metro Gurgaon (with a shared ticketing system) and Noida Metro. On 5 February 2019, the DMRC took over the operations of the financially troubled Rapid Metro Gurgaon as part of its own network.
- The concept of a mass rapid transit for New Delhi first emerged from a traffic and travel characteristics study which was carried out in the city in 1969.Over the next several years, many official committees by a variety of Government departments were commissioned to examine issues related to technology, route alignment, and Governmental jurisdiction.In 1984, the Urban Arts Commission came up with a proposal for developing a multi-modal transport system, which would consist of constructing three underground mass rapid transit corridors as well augmenting the city’s existing suburban railway and road transport networks.
