Eligibility Criteria for CSL Workmen 2025
1. Educational Qualification
For Senior Ship Draftsman (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation):
Three year Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline from State Board of Technical Education with minimum 60% marks
Minimum two years position qualification experience as Ship Draftsman or Draftsman in Shipyard, Engineering Company, Ship Design Company, Government or Semi-Government Company
Desirable: Experience in 3D modeling software like Tribon, CADMATIC or CAD software
For Junior Technical Assistant (Mechanical):
Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from State Board of Technical Education with minimum 60% marks
Minimum four years opening qualification experience in installation and commissioning of mechanical systems in Shipyard, Engineering Company, Government or Semi-Government Company
Desirable: Experience in HVAC, Fire Fighting System, Cranes, Air Compressors, Pumps, Piping systems
For Junior Technical Assistant (Electrical):
Three year Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from State Board of Technical Education with minimum 60% marks
Minimum four years post qualification experience in installation and commissioning of electrical systems
Desirable: Experience in PLC/SCADA/DCS Systems, HT/LT switchgear panels, power management systems
For Junior Technical Assistant (Electronics):
Three year Diploma in Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 60% marks
Minimum four years post qualification experience in installation and commissioning of control systems and electronic systems
Desirable: Experience in electronics systems manufacturing, microprocessor based embedded systems, wireless communication systems
For Junior Technical Assistant (Civil):
Three year Diploma in Civil Engineering from State Board of Technical Education with minimum 60% marks
Minimum four years post qualification experience in civil construction, maintenance of infrastructure projects, and must be computer savvy
For Junior Technical Assistant (Instrumentation):
Three year Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering from State Board of Technical Education with minimum 60% marks
Minimum four years opening qualification experience in Instrumentation works in Shipyard or Engineering Company and must be computer savvy
For Laboratory Assistant (Mechanical):
Essential: Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering with minimum 60% marks
Desirable: Radiographer Certificate Level-1 from BARC or PCN/ISNT/ASNT Level II qualification in four NDT methods
Minimum four years post qualification experience in Testing Laboratory or Quality Control activities
For Laboratory Assistant (Chemical):
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc) in Chemistry from recognized University with minimum 60% marks
Minimum four years post qualification experience in Metal/Water/Oil/Fuel/Paint testing Lab preferably NABL Accredited
Desirable: Experience in handling instruments like Optical Emission Spectrometer, Mass Spectrometer, Gas Chromatograph
For Storekeeper:
Graduate with Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management OR Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
Minimum four years post qualification experience in storekeeping in Shipyard, Engineering Company, Government or Semi-Government Company
Desirable: Exposure in materials management and ERP packages
For Assistant:
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (other than Fine Arts/Performing Arts) or Science or Commerce or Computer Applications or Business Administration with minimum 60% marks
Minimum four years post qualification experience in office work, ERP system, data entry, record maintenance in Shipyard, Engineering Company, Commercial Organization, Government or Semi-Government Company
Desirable: Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Tally, SAP
Important Note:
Applicants with higher qualifications like B.Tech, M.Sc etc. without prescribed diploma qualification shall not be considered.

The age limit for CSL Workmen Category Recruitment 2025 is:

35 years as on 12/01/2026 (Individuals should be born on or after 13/01/1991)
Age Relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer):

For Senior Ship Draftsman Posts:
Phase I:
Objective Type Online Test – 70 marks (75 minutes duration)
Phase II:
Practical Test in CAD – 30 marks
Total Marks:
100 marks
Minimum Pass Marks:
50% for UR/EWS, 45% for OBC, 40% for SC (in each phase separately)
For Junior Technical Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Storekeeper & Assistant Posts:
Part 1:
Objective Type Online Test – 70 marks (75 minutes duration)
Part 2:
Descriptive Type Online Test – 30 marks (60 minutes duration)
Total Marks:
100 marks
Minimum Pass Marks:
