Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy obtained from any University established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956
Computer Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of Computer Application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
Language:
Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or Both
Registration:
Candidate shall require to get himself/herself registered with the Indian Association of Physiotherapist, if not already registered at the time of making application
Future Registration:
Candidate shall require to get registered with the Gujarat State Council for Physiotherapist as soon as the said Council is constituted under section 3 of the Gujarat State Council for Physiotherapist Act, 2011

Salary/Stipend
Initial 5 Years:
Fixed pay of Rs. 49,600/- per month as per Finance Department resolutions dated 16/02/2006, 29/04/2010, 06/10/2011, 20/10/2014, 20/10/2015, 18/01/2017, and 18/10/2023
After 5 Years:
Upon satisfactory service completion, regular appointment in 7th Pay Commission remuneration scale of Rs. 39,900/- to Rs. 1,26,600/- (Level-7)
Additional Benefits:
Other benefits as per government resolutions will be applicable

This is subject to the judgment in SLP No.14124/2012 and SLP No.14125/2012 pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court

Selection Process
Written Examination:
One-stage competitive examination through MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) based Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) / Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) method
Examination Parts:
The examination will be conducted in two parts – Part-A and Part-B
Part-A (60 Marks, 60 Questions):
Logical Tests and Data Interpretation: 30 marks
Mathematical Tests: 30 marks
Part-B (150 Marks, 150 Questions):
Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati and English Comprehension: 30 marks
Subject-related questions and their application: 120 marks
Total Questions:
210 questions (Part-A: 60 + Part-B: 150)
Total Marks:
210 marks
Duration:
3 hours (180 minutes) for both parts combined
Negative Marking:
1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
Qualifying Standard:
Minimum 40% marks required separately in both Part-A and Part-B for all categories
Merit List:
Based on total marks obtained in both parts (after meeting qualifying standards)
Certificate Verification:
Approximately twice the number of vacancies will be called for document verification based on merit
Final Final Selection:
Based on merit, subject to certificate verification and medical fitness
General Information/Instructions
Citizenship
Candidate must be a citizen of India or hold nationality as per provisions of Rule-7 of Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
For SC/ST/SEBC Candidates
Caste certificate must be in the prescribed format and obtained from competent authority as determined by Gujarat Government
SEBC Candidates:
Must submit Non-Creamy Layer certificate as per Annexure-4 (Gujarati format) or Annexure-A (Central Government format for reservation under Central Government jobs)
Certificate should be based on income of Financial Year 2022-23/2023-24/2024-25
Certificate must be obtained between 01/04/2023 to 15/01/2026
Married SEBC women candidates must submit certificate based on parents’ income, NOT husband’s income
For EWS Candidates
Must submit Income and Asset Certificate as per Annexure-KH (English) or Annexure-G (Gujarati) format
Certificate should be obtained between 24/12/2022 to 15/01/2026
Alternatively, Income and Asset Certificate for EWS reservation under Central Government obtained between 01/04/2025 to 15/01/2026 based on Financial Year 2024-25 income is also acceptable
For PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Candidates
Disability certificate must be as per notifications/provisions issued by Government of India, Health and Family Welfare Department, Gujarat Government, or Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Gujarat Government
Eligible disabilities: Blindness (B), Low Vision (LV), Deaf (D), Hard of Hearing (HH), One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), Both Legs (BL), One Arm and One Leg (OAL), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), Spinal Deformity (SD), Spinal Injury (SI) without neurological/limb dysfunction, Specific Learning Disability (SLD) 40-70%, Mental Illness (MI) 40-70%, Multiple Disabilities (MD)
10 years age relaxation for PwD candidates (maximum up to 45 years)
For Ex-Servicemen Candidates
Must have rendered at least 6 months service in Navy/Air Force/Army
Must possess competent authority’s identity card and discharge book
Age relaxation: Period of service rendered plus 3 years
Candidates retiring within one year from the last date of application can also apply
For Widow Candidates
5% additional marks will be added to total marks/normalized marks obtained in the examination
Must not have remarried at the time of appointment
If widow status is acquired after application submission or during any stage of recruitment, benefit will be applicable from that stage onwards
For Sports Persons
5% additional marks for candidates who represented at National/International level or Inter-University or All India School level competitions
Eligible sports: Athletics (Track and Field), Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Boxing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo, Rifle Shooting, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Archery, Horse Riding, Shot Put, Rowing, Chess, Handball
Certificate must be obtained from prescribed authority in prescribed format
Computer Knowledge
Candidates must possess certificate/marksheet of Basic Computer Knowledge from any training institution as per Government resolution dated 13/08/2008 and 18/03/2016
Alternatively, any Computer Diploma/Degree/Certificate course from government recognized university/institution is acceptable
Certificate of passing Class 10 or Class 12 assessment with Computer as a subject is also acceptable
Candidates without such certificate can apply but must submit it before appointment, otherwise appointment will be cancelled
