Eligibility Criteria
Essential Education Qualification:
Matriculation from a recognised Board
Sports Qualifications:
Players who have participated in any International Competition/ National Competitions/ Inter-University Tournaments/ National Sports/ Games for Schools/ Khelo India University Games/ Khelo India Youth Games/ Khelo India Winter Games
Age as per Certificate:
Only Matriculation certificate or Higher secondary school certificate will be accepted as proof for establishing age of the candidates
Certificate Requirements:
All educational certificates other than Central Board/State Boards should be accompanied with Government notifications declaring the equivalence of such qualification for service under Central Government
Sports Certificate:
Candidates must possess valid sports certificates from competent authorities as specified in the publication
Caste Certificate:
Individuals seeking relaxation under SC/ST/OBC category should submit the certificate as per prescribed format
Document Possession:
The candidates must fulfil all eligibility conditions and should be in possession of all sports and education certificates at the time of joining
Salary/Stipend
Pay scale and other allowances will be as admissible to Assam Rifles personnel as per 7th CPC
Candidates Provisionally Selected will be covered under New Pension Scheme (NPS)

For General & OBC Candidates:
18 to 28 years as on 01 Jan 2026. Candidates should have not been born earlier than 01 Jan 1998 and later than 01 Jan 2008
For SC/ST Candidates:
18 to 33 years as on 01 Jan 2026. Individuals should have not been born earlier than 01 Jan 1993 and later than 01 Jan 2008
Upper Age Relaxation:
For Gen/OBC is Five years and SC/ST is Ten years respectively for players who have participated in specified competitions

Selection Process
Candidate Verification:
Candidates in possession of valid call letters and photo ID proof like Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhaar Card will only be permitted to enter the recruitment rally site
Initial Documentation:
All candidates will have to undergo documentation, in which candidates will have to produce all original documents/certificates pertaining to age, education, caste, sports and domicile/Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)
RFID Based Physical Standard Test (PST):
PST of candidates will be carried out by using Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) with specific height, chest and weight standards
Motor Ability Test (MAT):
MAT in all sports disciplines will be conducted by a Board of Officers at rally site as per norms of Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) manual of Sports Authority of India (SAI)
Field Trial:
Field Trial in all disciplines will be conducted by a Board of Officers at Rally site. Marks will be awarded to candidates as per their performance in the Field Trial
Detailed Medical Examination (DME):
Candidates who qualify in Field Trial in respective sports discipline will undergo Detailed Medical Examination with specific visual acuity and medical standards
Review Medical Examination (RME):
If a candidate is declared UNFIT in DME, they will be allowed to undergo RME provided they give written consent
Merit List:
Job Seekers who qualify in all respects will be placed in Merit List. Final selection will be done on the basis of achievements and performance in Field Trials and level of participation
Pregnancy Disqualification:
Pregnancy at the time of PST, MAT/Field Trial & DME will be considered a disqualification
General Information/Instructions
Online applications are invited from entitled male and female Indian citizens for filling up vacancies for the Post of Rifleman/Riflewomen (General Duty) under Sports Quota recruitment in Assam Rifles for the Year 2026
The Recruitment Rally will be held at various locations. RFID Based PST, MAT & Field Trial will be conducted at Assam Rifles Training Centre and School Dimapur (Nagaland), Sukhovi (Nagaland), HQ DGAR Laitkor Shillong (Meghalaya), and HQ IGAR(S) Mantripukhri, Imphal (Manipur)
Assam Rifles reserves the right to divert vacancies, wherein, in case of non availability of suitable candidates against the vacancies of male candidates, the same may be filled up by suitable female candidates in the same sports discipline and vice versa
Candidates should be in possession of personal sports dress/gear, kit, equipment and tools which are requisite for Field Trial in the sports discipline they applied for. No dress and kits will be provided by the Recruitment Agency
Job Seekers will not be considered for recruitment if involved/convicted/arrested in any criminal case under IPC or any other Act
Candidate belonging to the physically handicapped category is not suitable to apply for this recruitment
Mobiles and other electronic gadgets are banned within the premises of recruitment rally sites/trial centres
Assam Rifles authorities are not responsible for any type of arrangement of accommodation/food/transportation for the candidates during the recruitment process
Assam Rifles authorities will not be held responsible for any damage/injury/death/loss to the individual sustained during the entire recruitment process
Compassionate ground appointment scheme is not applicable to this Recruitment Rally
The first phase of the recruitment may take 40 to 60 days to complete
No TA/DA is admissible
To avoid over-crowding, only candidates will be permitted to enter Recruitment Rally Site. Parents/friends are advised not to accompany candidates
Providing functional/in use Email ID and mobile phone number in Online Application Form by the applicants is mandatory. The mobile phone number should not be DND activated
All further information regarding conduct of various events will be intimated through notification on website and email only

Download and print the completed Online Application Form and Call Letter
Documents Required While Reporting:
Candidates must produce original copy of payment receipt/challan, printed copy of online Application Form duly completed, and copy of Call Letter downloaded from the website
Original Documents:
During PST, MAT, Field Trial, DME & RME, candidates must produce all original documents/certificates pertaining to age, education, caste, sports and domicile/PRC
Important Note:
In case of non uploading of receipt/challan during online registration, the candidature of such applicants will be rejected
